books that i use on an almost daily basis.

signs that language-learning is messing up my brain:
- i write "der" or "die" when i actually intended "the"
- i pick up the german oxford when i actually want the english oxford, flip thru it absentmindedly for a while before realising that the word i'm looking up is not there bcos it's the WRONG LANGUAGE
- i start writing nouns with capital letters in english

dont be fooled by the "new edition" on the left btw, it was printed in 1988 (!!) and passed down to me from my oldest sister. it's tattered and torn, yellow and brown all over. but it is my precious treasure cove.

nerd, i know. but hey, it's the truth.
